Lighthouse with the piece Oathbreaker open: seven sections across, their chords above, an energy curve rising to a climax, and the orchestra down the side, a pattern in each cell
01Energy

Turn up the energy. The orchestra builds.

Each section has its own energy. Raise it and the theme doubles, the bass drives, the percussion builds. Lower it and the orchestra thins out.

For games, export each intensity as its own layer.

02Checks

Like having an orchestrator working with you.

Lighthouse points out what an orchestrator would. Fix all suggests changes, and you keep the ones you like.

Sounds clean
Out of rangeNotes the instrument can't play well.
Muddy low endClose chords too low.
Two bass linesTwo parts fighting for the bottom.
Parallel octavesA part doubling the bass line.
Buried melodySomething loud on top of the theme.
Brass over woodwindsFlutes lost under the horns.
Clashing rhythmsTwo driving figures at odds.
Too crowdedMore than anyone can hear.
03Chords & phrases

Write a phrase once and it fits every chord.

Write your chords for each section, or start from a progression. Phrases are written in steps of the key, so they follow every chord and every key change.

The horns' pattern in the section Betrayal, over Dm, Bb, Eb and A: notes labelled 3rd of the key, 4th of the key and home note of the key, with the notes actually played shown hollow beneath
04Orchestra

Try another idea in one click.

Every instrument has patterns written for its range and role. Ask for more intense, calmer, or something that fits, and hear it straight away.

  • Theme, counter-melody, harmony, ostinato, bass, percussion
  • Lock a part to keep it as it is
The horns in Betrayal: the heroic theme playing, buttons for More intense, Calmer and Something that fits, and five other patterns to try instead
05Styles

Blend styles on one pad.

Pick up to four styles and drag between them. Turn the energy, hear it before and after, then keep it or not.

No AI. Every pattern is tagged by its role, style and energy, and the blend chooses by those tags.
